The machine hasn’t changed, only in name, the census journey that the Christ was born within is here today. At the first Christmas, the Essenes, Sadducees, Pharisees, Scribes and Zealots were each looking toward a Christ figure to fulfill their agenda, all were disappointed by the reality when it appeared within their midst. Still, the expectations of a physical figure to resolve metaphysical differences are all impossibly present on Earth in their modern factions and guises. Yet, the living essence of this story not only survives in prayer and paper, it loves, lives and breathes and has never ever been absent from the Earth.
This sentinel station of a Christ-like Magister holding the two worlds apart, the two waters apart, the two pillars apart is the stuff of myth and whisper in all cultures of Earth both open and hidden, past and present. Whether in all the religions of West and East, the Pied Piper story or the Alladin story that morphs into Harry Potter, the C.S. Lewis story of lion, witch and wardrobe or the Tolkien sagas of ring and redemption, the idea that there is magic and the supernatural hiding in plain sight, that can be accessed in times of great need, is ever it seems running through the life of Mankind and not just in the crafted fairy stories of our Disney retelling.
Is there an actual, living accessible reality to these stories, myths and aspirations today, now, in these crisis ridden times that are so similar to all the other crisis ridden times that have ever been recorded?
Why then doesn’t this embodiment make itself known?
Come on, you don’t really need to ask that question do you? Even for you, though it stretches your imagination somewhat, it is a question that is more to do with the film Elf, than it is a question that really needs wrestling with.
So, how are the tick boxes of tribalised religious authority to be satisfied by the invisible message taking form and manifesting again for them according to their scripts, prompts and stage directions?
How has it happened before? When Krishna appeared in The Bhagavad Gita, when Moses appeared in Egypt, when David met Goliath, when Samson brought down the Temple, when The Buddha met enlightenment, when Muhammad (pbuh) met Gabriel, when Christ got out of the cave, when Joseph got out of the well …. on and on, the word that connects the supernatural with the natural is unexpected.
The unexpected has a long lead-in, a preparation of a place of manifestation that becomes apparent after the apprehension of its unexpected appearance, but by then it becomes almost by definition, expected.
